Support for You & Your Family
The Children’s Hyperinsulinism Charity runs a private Facebook support group where families can connect with others who truly understand life with HI. With over 1,200 members and growing, it offers a safe, supportive space to ask questions, share experiences, and find reassurance at every stage of the HI journey.
Brave creates self-care opportunities for parent carers to enjoy much-needed ‘you’ time, supporting their mental health and overall wellbeing. Brave parents is a registered charity providing self-care opportunities for parents of children with complex medical needs. They offer a variety of ways to support parent carers, form in-person and virtual events to Brave Boxes delivered straight to your door. Brave also works closely with hospitals, hospices and other charities to remind parent carers that looking after themselves isn’t a luxury; it’s essential, especially during the toughest times.
Home-Start UK is a national charity there for parents when they need help the most. There are around 175 independent Home-Starts working in areas across the UK offering support for struggling families. Families experiencing post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who will spend around 2 hours a week in our home supporting you in ways you need.
Cards for Bravery is a UK charity dedicated to brightening the days and improving the emotional wellbeing of hospitalised and seriously ill children aged 0-25 and their families. We support children and young people through a range of services including the distribution of handmade bravery cards, care packages, wellbeing initiatives and other projects designed to reduce isolation, provide comfort and help families feel seen and supported during difficult times.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lets people with non-visible disabilities discreetly signal they may need additional support, time, space or understanding.
Simple, supportive actions can make a big difference, such as taking a calm approach, offering clear directions, allowing extra time at busy points, or helping someone find a quieter space if they feel overwhelmed.
Choice matters including how to wear it and when to wear it. The sunflower is available in a range of options, including a lanyard, badge, bracelet and digital options. In certain situations, or at certain times, Sunflower wearers benefit when those around them know they have a non-visible disability, so they can receive offers of support and kindness.
